Police: Pair robs Algiers Subway restaurants at gunpoint

Two Algiers Subway restaurants have been robbed by a pair of unknown gunmen, police say.

The first robbery occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday at a Subway restaurant located in the 5100 block of General DeGaulle Drive. The second Subway was robbed a day later in the 4800 block of General Meyer Avenue.

During both incidents, the suspects entered the business, one armed with a gun, and demanded the cashier to open the register. The cashier complied and the suspects fled the businesses with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The armed suspect has been described a black male with slim to medium build. Police say he is approximately 5'5” and armed with a black firearm. He was last seen wearing a black knit cap, black jacket, black pants and white tennis shoes.

The second suspect has also been described as a black male with slim to medium build. Police say he is approximately 5'5.” He was last seen wearing a black knit cap, blue jacket, black pants and black tennis shoes with white soles. During the first robbery, the suspect was wearing black gloves. During the second robbery, he was allegedly wearing black striped stockings covering his hands.
