NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - It turned out to be a great Thanksgiving with a little chill in the air. Even with bright sunshine, temperatures stayed in the low 60s and 50s with the high at Armstrong International Airport topping out at 61.
The weekend only gets better. Early morning Black Friday shoppers need to bundle up with temperatures in the lower 40s south and lower 30s north this morning. A few locations on the north shore may hit the freezing mark. Dress in layers as afternoon highs will rebound into the middle 60s by the late afternoon.
Wait there is more! As the high pressure controlling our weather slides east and winds turn more onshore creating this afternoon's warm up. The trend will continue into the weekend as afternoon highs will bump up a few degrees each day making it into the middle 70s before the end of the weekend.
Bayou Classic fans will enjoy nice spring like afternoons in the 70s and cool evenings. The only negative aspect of the forecast is that with water temperatures in the lakes now in the 50s the higher moisture content of the onshore flow may allow some dense fog to develop.
