Police seek suspect in French Quarter armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in the French Quarter this morning.

According to NOPD, a 33-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of Chartres Street around 6 a.m. on Nov. 30 when the suspect approached him from behind and pushed him into the wall. The suspect, allegedly armed with a gun, stole the victim's wallet and cell phone before fleeing west on Chartres Street.

The victim describes his attacker as a black male, about 5'11", weighing about 150 to 160 pounds with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black tennis shoes. Above is a computer composite of the suspect.
