Police: Runaway teen messages sister, reports being stabbed

Police say that a runaway 16-year-old girl sent her sister a message, stating she had been stabbed and was staying in a Gentilly hotel.

Destiny Barthelemy, 16, was last seen by her mother on Sunday morning in the 8000 block of Trapier Avenue. Officers say that Barthelemy's mother went to pick the teen up at the location around 10:30 a.m.

Her mother tells police that Barthelemy jumped through a window and ran away. The teen has allegedly ran away on many occasions.

However, police say Barthelemy's mother became increasing worried when the 16-year-old sent her sister a message saying that she had been stabbed and was in a Gentilly hotel.

Barthelemy is described as a black female, approximately 5'4” tall, and approximately 130 pounds with long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, a black jacket, black shorts and black combat-style boots.
