Woman robs 'New Orleans' Oldest Candy Store'

New Orleans Police are asking for the public's help in locating a woman who robbed a French Quarter business. The incident occurred Monday at 6:45 p.m. In the 500 block of Decatur Street.

According to police, the suspect walked into Laura's Candies and gave the cashier a note stating that she would shoot her if she did not hand over the money. The cashier gave the suspect the money and the suspect left the business.

Laura's Candies opened in 1913.

The suspect is described as an African-American woman in her late 30's to early 40's with a lazy eye. She was wearing a grey, white and black knit cap with a grey coat and blue jeans. She was carrying a black and light blue backpack.
