NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An attempted robbery at a Mid City gas station was thwarted by a cashier who stuck the suspect in the head. New Orleans police have now identified the suspect.
Officers are searching for 27-year-old Bruce Hall following the attempted robbery on November 14. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. at a Shell gas station, located in the 3300 block of Tulane Avenue.
Police say that Hall walked into the business and requested a pack of cigarettes. As the cashier gave the price of the cigarette, Hall allegedly drew a knife and demanded the register to be opened.
When the cashier refused, police say the suspect reached over the counter and began pushing buttons in an attempt to open the register. Fearing for his safety, police say the cashier struck the suspect in the head causing him to flee.
Following an investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Hall for attempted robbery.
