Male killed in Central City shooting

New Orleans police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in Central City.

The victim was shot just after 4 p.m. in the 2500 block of Dryades Street. Officers were called out to investigate a “man down” on top of a stairwell at an apartment complex. When they arrived officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He died on the scene.

ProjectNOLA gave detectives a surveillance photograph of a vehicle of interest that was seen in the area during the time of the shooting.

Investigators are currently in the process of interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence, as well as a motive. Homicide Detective Thomas Ripp is in charge of the investigation.
