HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - A drug deal in the parking lot of a Houma convenience store ended in three arrests and the seizure of heroin, MDMA capsules and crystal meth.

The bust happened on Saturday in the 500 block of South Van Avenue. Police received a tip that a suspected illegal narcotics transition was taking place in the parking lot of the convenience store.

Police arriving on the scene found James Williams, Jr., 45, and Michael Ledet, 32, inside of a vehicle.

The occupant of a second vehicle, identified as 37-year-old William Gautreaux, attempted to flee on foot, police say. He was apprehended after a short chase.

A K9 unit arriving on the scene alerted officers of illegal narcotics on the scene, police say. After searching both vehicles, officers say they found heroin, MDMA capsules, crystal meth, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.

Ledet has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and transactions involving drug proceeds.

Williams has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gautreaux has been charged with possession and transactions involving drug proceeds.

All three were transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail. They are being held without bond.
