New Orleans Police have arrested a man wanted for two burglaries and one theft that occurred in Algiers. David Steadman, 47, was taken into custody Monday near the intersection of Clara and Thalia Streets.
Police say that on November 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., police were called to a home burglary in the 6100 block of Stratford Place. The victim told police that she found her door unlocked and that someone cut out her copper wiring. She also said that several items in and around the home were also taken.
During their investigation, detectives looked over neighborhood surveillance footage and saw a man breaking into the home. They identified the man as Steadman and obtained an arrest warrant for simple burglary. Detectives were also able to identify Steadman as the suspect in a burglary that occurred on July 6, 2014 in the 3300 block of Dickens Drive and an October 6, 2014 theft in the 6300 block of Dover Place.
Police booked Steadman with two counts of burglary and one count of theft.
