ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A building that once housed Dick's Bar in Bush, Louisiana caught fire early Wednesday morning.
Approximately 25 firefighters and eight tankers were called to the 81000 block of Highway 21 around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The building housed Dick's Bar for approximately 50 years, according to Scott Brewer with St. Tammany Fire District 9.
Brewer adds that one man lived in the building. He was able to safely escape thanks to working smoke detectors.
The parking lot surrounding the building is currently used as an open-air market.
