Man, 60, killed in Roseland house fire

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Investigators with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire in Roseland that left a 60-year-old man dead. 

The fire occurred Wednesday around 4:00 a.m. In the 12000 block of Tangipahoa Avenue.

Fire officials say that from the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department, along with Amite Fire Fighters, arrived on scene and found flames coming out of the rear of the small two-bedroom home. Once firefighters extinguished the blaze, they entered the home and found the body of Woodrow H. Ford, Jr. in a recliner. 

Ford was pronounced dead on scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Fire investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the fire. They say that there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
