The Amite Warriors came up short in their quest for a state championship, losing to the Livonia Wildcats 43-14 Saturday afternoon in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Amite fell into a 21-8 halftime deficit and was never able to steal momentum away from Livonia, who was playing in its second straight title game.
Kenner Harrell led Amite with 128 yards rushing, and his first quarter touchdown, a 53-yard run, briefly gave the Warriors an 8-7 lead before Livonia took control. Quarterback Davarious Henderson threw for 136 yards and a score to Montray Walker, Jr., but Henderson also threw three interceptions.
With the loss, the Warriors finish the season 12-3.
