HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - A Houma man has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of his estranged wife.
Mike Nixon, 52, was arrested early Tuesday morning.
Officers received reports of the disturbance late Monday night in the 100 block of Moses Street in Chauvin.
Nixon, of Houma, allegedly forced his way into the home armed with a shotgun. Once inside, deputies say he grabbed his estranged wife by the hair and forcefully dragged her into his vehicle and fled the scene.
He drove the victim to a location in Houma against her will, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.
Detectives found Nixon and the victim at Nixon's Houma residence. The woman was unharmed.
Deputies say Nixon confessed to the incident. He was arrested on one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.
He is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he awaits a bond hearing.
