Orleans Parish sheriff deputy's weapon stolen during home invasion

An Orleans Parish sheriff's deputy had her department-issued gun stolen during a home invasion, according to New Orleans police.

The incident happened Monday at 6:48 p.m. in the 6800 block of Farwood Road in New Orleans East. The 32-year-old victim said she was in another area of the residence when someone entered her house and took her weapon from the kitchen table. The perpetrator also got away with ammunition, according to police.
