NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for breaking into the home of local businessman Sydney Torres on Esplanade Avenue.

Officers booked 35-year-old John C. Adams on Christmas Eve. He faces charges of burglary and possession of stolen things.

Surveillance video shows a man jumping over a locked gate at Torres' home. Police say he went inside, took a 60-inch television, and then wandered outside.

Cameras show the man struggling to lift it the t-v over the gate. Eventually, someone else shows up and helps him put it into a car.

Torres announced on Dec. 19 that he was offering an $8,000 reward for information that led to the capture of the people responsible.
