Cold, but dry for New Year's Eve

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

We finally began to see some clearing skies late Tuesday. However, a little cloud cover is still hanging around parts of the South Shore Wednesday morning. 

We can expect more sunshine today with temperatures remaining chilly and in the lower to mid 50s. By Wednesday night, more high clouds begin to return from the west, but great visibility for fireworks tonight with temps in the 30s and 40s, It might be near freezing again north of the lake. 

More clouds and a stray shower possible New Year's Day afternoon and evening. Friday morning looks wet with showers and some storms. Another round of showers are possible Saturday with a cold front moving through for Sunday.
