Man on bike sought in French Quarter armed robbery

The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with a French Quarter armed robbery.

The incident occurred at 6:45 p.m. Monday (Dec. 29) in the 500 block of Toulouse Street.

Police said a 35-year-old man was sitting down in the block when he was approached by the suspect on a BMX-style bicycle. The suspect demanded the victim's money, but the victim refused. The suspect then implied he had a weapon and demanded money again, and the victim complied. The suspect fled on the bike down Toulouse Street toward Decatur, and then unknown.

The suspect was described as a Latino male in his late 20s, approximately 5'08” tall and approximately 175 pounds with a medium build. He had closely cropped short hair and was wearing a black jacket with red on the back, jeans and a green canvas backpack.
