NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - As we made the transition from 2014 to 2015 last night, the weather began a transition of its own.
Clouds began moving in quickly from the west, which prevented overnight temperatures from getting as cold as the night before.
We're starting 2015 in the 40s... so still chilly, but highs Thursday will reach the low 60s. Wednesday's high was 55 degrees under sunny skies.
We may see some showers mainly Thursday afternoon and evening, but most rain in the forecast will be on Friday and even more on Saturday.
There's only a marginal risk for any severe weather either day, but Saturday's rains look to be heavier. A cold front will push through early Sunday dropping temps as we head in to the end of the weekend and beginning of next week.
