Pelicans set for January run

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Pelicans are back at .500 after a 93-85 loss to the Wizards Monday dropped them to 17-17.

Ever since Monty Williams' squad drew to 9-10 on Dec. 6, they have been no more than a game away from an even record, but there is reason to think the young Pelicans can put together a hot streak as they close out January with 13 games in 24 days.  The following are the upcoming opponents and while a five game road streak looms, the only host with a winning record is the Raptors.

1/9    Memphis 25-9

1/12    at Boston 11-21

1/14    at Detroit 10-23

1/16    at Philadelphia 5-28

1/18    at Toronto 24-10

1/19    at New York 5-32

1/21    LA Lakers 11-24

1/23    at Minnesota 5-28

1/25    Dallas 26-10

1/26    Philadelphia 5-28

1/28    Denver 15-20

1/30    LA Clippers 23-12

Despite their five and eight record, the New York Jets have been competitive in all but two games, a 45-20 loss at Oakland in week two and a 23 to nothing shutout in Denver last Sunday. It was to whom they lost last week, how they lost and whom they lost in the course of that embarrassing defeat that has the Saints installed as 16-point favorites.
