NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Federal prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against one of the city's most notorious criminals.
A court document shows neither Telly Hankton, nor four of his co-defendants will face capitol punishments.
Hankton is already serving a life sentence for the 2008 murder of Darnell Stewart.
In June, Hankton and 12 other defendants, including his mother, were charged in a superseding indictment. The feds said all were involved in a deep rooted crime organization that operated Uptown and in Central City.
