NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Chilly air remains in place as cold air continues to slowly move east.
Don't put away the winter gear yet as another cold front arrives later tonight bringing down temps to just below freezing north and just above freezing south.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy. This weekend will be a 50/50 one. Saturday the better day but cold, as highs will not get out of the 40s under partly cloudy skies. Lows Saturday night will be in the mid to upper 30s north and upper 30s to lower 40s south.
On Sunday wet weather returns as a Gulf low rides along the coast bringing late morning and afternoon showers to the area. Not a washout, but coverage at 40-50 percent.
Temps will warm further into the middle 60s by Monday under partly cloudy skies.
