Sun 2/1 Slidell 1pm Krewe of Perseus

 The Mystick Krewe of Perseus of Slidell is the city's oldest Carnival organization, founded in 1970, and is named for the Greek god who slew Medusa.Perseus hosts a ball and a thirteen-float parade, with nine double-decker floats. Each float rider constructs his or her own costume. The Krewe is made up of 170 members, whose throws include their famous hand-decorated plastic crabs, crab beads, slap bracelets, and cups.

Route Description: 

  • The parade will begin at Berkley St. and Spartan Dr.
  • The parade will follow Spartan Dr. north taking a left Highway 11.
  • The parade will proceed on Highway 11 then take a right onto Highway 190.
  • The parade will continue through town and end at the intersection on 190 and Kensington Blvd.
