METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - The snip of a ribbon marked the end of a big project to widen a bottleneck on Interstate 10 in Jefferson Parish.
The Department of Transportation and Development marked the completion of the $42 million project. It expanded I-10 from three to five lanes in both directions between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Boulevard.
The additional lanes help accommodate more than 162,000 vehicles that travel through the corridor each day. The state has spent more than $258 million on I-10 improvements since 2008.
