NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Former Saints player Darren Sharper's acquaintance is expected to be in court Friday to seek a lower bond following his arrest on rape charges.
In December, Erik Nunez pleaded not guilty in Orleans Parish Criminal Court to two counts of aggravated rape and one count of obstruction of justice.
His bond was raised from $400,000 to $2.5 million. Now, his attorney is expected to try to get that lowered. He is also pushing for a new judge, arguing the judge allotment in this case benefits the prosecutors.
Nunez, along with sharper and former Saint Bernard Parish deputy Brandon Licciardi were charged separately in New Orleans in connection with three rapes.
According to our partners at Nola.com | The Times-Picayune, Sharper will stay in Los Angeles at least for another week and a half until after his preliminary hearing there on rape charges.
