Woman arrested, man sought in string of Algiers home burglaries

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police have arrested a woman and are looking for her alleged accomplice in five home burglaries in Algiers.

Jaleesah Walker, 26, faces five counts of burglary. Police have issued an arrest warrant for Dale Plato. The burglaries took place Jan. 12 in the 2100 block of St. Nick Drive, on Tennyson Place, in the 300 block of Maumus Avenue, the 2600 block of Hyman Place and the 3900 block of South Inwood Avenue.

In all five of the burglaries, the suspects drove up to the homes in a red Jeep Wrangler, kicked in the rear doors and burglarized the residences.

Witnesses gave a description of the suspects and the Mississippi license plate number on the Wrangler, HGB154.

On Jan. 17, detectives found the Jeep in front of an apartment in the 4500 block of MacArthur Boulevard. A search warrant was executed and police found several items that were stolen in the burglaries, as well as Walker, who admitted her involvement in the burglaries.

Walker is jailed at Central Lock-Up.
