NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - For the first time ever, all of UNO's international services and activities will happen under one roof. The university held a grand opening celebration for its new 15,275-square-foot International Center.
"UNO has a rich history of both enrolling students from foreign countries as well as sending our students on one of our many study abroad programs to enrich their lives and expand their world view. The International Center reaffirms our commitment to educating globally aware citizens," President Peter Fos said.
The center will be used for seminars and meetings as well as a place for students to gather. A satellite television will broadcast programming in 15 languages.
UNO says the Edward G. Schlieder Educational Foundation gifted the money to create the space.
