Pelicans' Anthony Davis says he'll play against Lakers

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans forward Anthony Davis says he'll return to the lineup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night after missing the Pelicans' past three games with a sprained big toe on his left foot.

Davis says he remains in pain from the injury, which occurred during a victory in Detroit on Jan. 14, but feels good enough to play.

The Pelicans are 1-3 this season without Davis, who averages 24.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.

Pelicans starting guard Jrue Holiday, who's missed four straight games with a swollen right ankle, says his chances of playing against Los Angeles are "slim" after he rested during Wednesday morning's shoot-around.

The status of Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who sat out Los Angeles' previous game at Phoenix, remains unclear.
