Man threatened with gun after car breaks down in Algiers

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is searching for a person who pointed a gun at a man whose vehicle broke down on the side of the road Sunday in Algiers.

Police said at about 11 a.m., the victim man pulled to the side of the road in the 4400 block of Patterson Drive because his car stopped running. Moments later, police said a red Chevy Blazer pulled up behind the victim's car.

A man, whom the victim did not know, got out of the Blazer, pointed a pistol to the victim's head and said, "I should shoot you."

The gunman then jumped back into the Blazer and drove off westbound on Patterson Drive. The victim was not injured during the incident. He told police the suspect is a black male in his early 30s, 6'0" tall and 220 pounds.

The photograph at right is not the actual vehicle. The victim was unable to get the license plate.

Fourth District Detective Jason Hickman is in charge of the investigation.
