Davis returns to score 29 in Pelicans win

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Anthony Davis tallied a game-high 29 points, eight rebounds and four blocks to lead the Pelicans to a 96-80 win over the L.A. Lakers Wednesday night at the Smoothie King Arena.

Davis had missed the team's prior three games with a toe injury, but he returned in style, connecting on 11 of his 18 shots from the floor.

Tyreke Evans scored 19 points, while Eric Gordon chipped in with 17 points and 10 assists.

With the win, the Pelicans improve to .500 on the season at 21-21. New Orleans will face the Timberwolves in Minnesota Friday night.
