NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two armed robberies were reported overnight just minutes apart in the French Quarter.
The first incident was reported at 1:08 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Conti Street and Decatur Street. Police say that an unknown male approached two victims, a 63-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, and demanded their property. The victims complied and the suspect fled with a purse and a bag.
A second incident was reported only four minutes later.
Officers received reports of another armed robbery at 1:12 a.m. in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. Two female victims report that a black male approached them armed with a gun. The suspect took the victims' purses and attempted to flee. Witnesses tried to intervene, but the suspect wave a gun at them and fled, police say.
