ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A missing hunter was found alive Tuesday in St. Tammany Parish.
A post on the Sheriff's office Facebook page said, "We just found Mr. Varnado alive in the woods! Thanks to everyone who assisted. More details to come soon."
Robert "Rob" Varnado, a 42-year-old hunter from Mississippi, was hunting with a friend on Jan. 22 when the two were separated. He had last been seen in the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area in Honey Island Swamp.
Varnado was reported missing on Saturday.
The search for Varnado included deputies with K-9s, individuals on ATVs and patrol boats. Volunteers with Louisiana Search and Rescue Dog Team also assisted with the search.
