(WVUE) - Lil Wayne says he wants out of his contract with Cash Money Records. He has filed a lawsuit asking a judge to end his contract with Birdman's label, but he also wants $51 million.
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Wayne says the company violated the deal by withholding tens of millions of dollars from the rapper for his long-delayed album, "Tha Carter V."
The album was originally due out last May, but was pushed back to a December release. The Cash Money website still advertises it as "coming soon."
Since the label has not paid him the money he claims he's owed, Weezy argues that he should be able to leave Cash Money.
The company has not commented on the lawsuit.
