Police release composite sketches in robbery, shooting of Irish tourist

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD on Friday released composite sketches of two suspects wanted for shooting and robbing an Irish tourist on Jan 27.

The incident happened in the 2200 block of New Orleans Street.

At approximately 5:40 a.m., Fifth District officers received a call of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the 30-year-old male victim lying in the driveway of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

The victim told police he met a man who brought him to the area after telling the victim that he knew of a place where they could get a drink. The victim told police that he went to an ATM and withdrew $200. When they reached the location on New Orleans Street, the victim told police that another man confronted him and asked him for money. When the victim refused, the man shot him and took his money. The suspects then fled on foot.

Wanted subject #1 (left): Black male in his 30s, 5'08" tall with a light complexion and facial stubble with some gray hairs, wearing a grey ball cap with an unknown design.

Wanted subject #2 (right): Black male, late 30s or early 40s and armed with a gun.
