NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Clouds started moving in, but it still ended up being a fairly nice day. Temperatures peaked in the upper 50's and low 60's across the area and most importantly the rain is holding off as a number of parades rolled through the area Saturday.
Unfortunately we can't continue the string through the rest of the weekend. An upper low to our west over the Baha Peninsula is forcing moisture east and up over the cool air at the surface.
Scattered showers will develop throughout the day on Sunday with the heaviest showers later in the day as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Expect a big chill behind the front with north winds pushing cold air into the area.
Monday will be chilly during the day with overnight lows into Tuesday morning dropping into the 30's.
