Slidell man wanted for attempted murder

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who allegedly shot another man in the leg Sunday afternoon.

Investigators obtained a second-degree murder arrest warrant for Bonifilio Perez. The Sheriff's Office says Perez's last known address was on North Pine Street in Slidell.

Just after 2 p.m. on Sunday, a witness called 911 to report that someone had been shot at the soccer fields in the 1700 block of Sullivan Road in Slidell. The victim told deputies that he and Perez had been involved in an ongoing feud. He claimed that Perez was infatuated with his wife and had previously threatened to kill him.

Deputies say Perez pulled into the parking lot of the soccer field in a black Toyota Tundra and fired a handgun out of his truck window. They say Perez drove off after the shooting.

The Sheriff's Office says Perez should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, or know where he is, investigators ask that you call 911.
