SPCA: Reward increased for information on beheading of Algiers baby goat

The Louisiana SPCA has increased the amount of reward money for information on the beheading of a baby goat in Algiers from $1,000 to $3,000. The incident took place overnight, Wednesday at Brechtel Park. In addition to the beheading, a second goat was reported missing.

A Louisiana SPCA spokesperson says that an altercation between the owner of the goats and a group of teenagers could have something to do with the incident. The owner says that a group of teenagers were disturbing his goats and when asked to stop, one of the teenagers did not respond kindly, but eventually left.

The spokesperson says that the New Orleans Police Department and SPCA are working to get viable leads in order to locate the missing goat or the remains of the deceased goat. The investigation continues and is considered a top priority.

If you have any information that could help solve this case, you are asked to call the Louisiana SPCA at 504-368-5191.
