Police: Intoxicated woman crashes into cruiser... twice

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Police say that an intoxicated woman crashed into a Kenner police cruiser two times during a traffic stop.

Kenner Police arrested 46-year-old Debra Lynn White of Gulfport, Mississippi on Friday.

Officers say they pulled over White's vehicle Friday in the 4400 block of Williams Boulevard in Kenner. White was swerving and driving in a reckless manner, police say.

After stopping White, police say she placed her vehicle in reverse and crashed into the police unit that pulled her over. The officer backed up the cruiser to create distance between the vehicles.

At this time, Kenner police say White backed into the police unit a second time. The police unit sustained minor damage. No one was injured.

Officers say that White had slurred speech and admitted to drinking alcohol. She failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Police say she refused to submit chemical testing, resulting in a search warrant obtained and executed for a blood draw. Toxicology results are pending.

White has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated flight from an officer.

She was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on Sunday on a $11,500 bond.
