NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - If you like lots of lights and special effects, the Krewe of Endymion says you don't want to miss this year's parade.

The krewe is lighting up the night in preparation of Saturday's parade.

New in 2015, the krewe has added thousands of LED lights and light boards to the floats. They will also have a new four-section float that will hold 150 people and will have monitors on them that will give parade goers a look at themselves.

Endymion rolls down their traditional Mid City route and finishes at the Superdome for the krewe's extravaganza party Saturday night.

"When I was a boy, my mom took me to all of the Mardi Gras parades and Mardi Gras is special," Krewe of Endymion Captain Ed Muniz said. "There's nothing more New Orleans than Mardi Gras.

This year's theme is "Fantastic Voyages."
