68-year-old woman forced to the ground, carjacked in N.O. East

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating two men wanted for a carjacking in New Orleans East.

The incident occurred Wednesday at about 6 p.m. in the 7000 block of Read Boulevard and was captured on video surveillance.

Police said a 68-year-old woman was getting into her black 2006 Toyota Camry when two men approached her. After pushing her to the ground, both got into her car and drove off.

The victim sustained minor scratches and abrasions. He car was found a short time later in the 14500 block of Duane Road.

One suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, approximately 5'8” tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white T-shirt, with unknown color pants and orange tennis shoes.

The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a grey sweatshirt and black pants.
