NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - John Curtis head coach J.T. Curtis is hopeful that a new proposal to LHSAA will put his Patriots in the Catholic League for all sports the next two years.
They played at the top level for last year's football playoffs, ultimately falling to Jesuit in the State Championship.
"It's the rule that we played by for about 80 years and then in 2004 when they changed that rule, they said they were going to force people to play in their playoff," Curtis said. "That's when a lot of the disruption started. And so, ever since that time, it's been one major catastrophe after another that culminated with a split two years ago. I'm hoping that this will allow people to say hey, let's get back together and let's participate as one association."
