NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Today was another nice day, although cooler, with bright sunshine.
The dry weather will continue through Sunday night. A light freeze is expected north of the lake tonight, and south shore temps will be around 42 degrees. A bit warmer for Saturday, with a high of 66. Weekend parades look very pleasant!
By Saturday evening, temps will only be in the 50s, with overnight lows in the 40s. Sunday afternoon reaches 60 degrees with evening temps in the 50s again.
Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras have confounded forecasters for most of this week. Rainfall and a surge of cold air have made timing the biggest outdoor event difficult to pinpoint. As models look now, rainfall moves in on Monday and continues into Mardi Gras morning.
Temps plummet Tuesday midday and afternoon, and right now, any remaining precipitation could change to sleet/snow by Tuesday evening.
