METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - One of the victims of a double shooting in Metairie is dead.
22-year-old Darren Dedaux died Saturday night from wounds he received outside of Mojo's bar on Cleary Avenue Wednesday morning.
Deputies first received reports of a shooting around 2:10 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 2900 block of Cleary Avenue. Officers arriving on the scene say they found a large crowd in the parking lot of Mojo's Bar.
Spent casings littered the scene, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. A nearby business, two apartments and three vehicles were hit by gunfire.
Nearly 20 minutes later, officers say Dedaux arrived at East Jefferson Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Around 4:20 a.m., police say a second victim arrived at Ochsner Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. He has been identified as 24-year-old man. Officers say they do not know if he was the intended victim or if he was caught in the crossfire.
