HOUSTON, LA (WVUE) - Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a Houma man in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store Thursday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, TPSO received a 911 call around 10 a.m. from the owner of the Chevron station at 5912 West Park Avenue. The owner told investigators that a masked man came in the store and robbed him at gunpoint. He told police that the robber then took off in a dark-colored SUV.
Deputies say they were able to find the suspect and arrest him with in 90 minutes. He's identified as 28-year-old Donald Ross of Houma. Investigators say they arrested Ross at his home on K Street where they say he admitted to robbing the store.
Police say Ross was arrested for one count of armed robbery with a firearm. He was also arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana after drugs were found inside his home, the sheriff's office said.
Ross is currently at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he awaits a bond hearing.
