Thibodaux drug dealer arrested after traffic stop

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - An alleged drug dealer with several outstanding warrants was arrested during a traffic stop.

According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Jordy Smith was pulled over by Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force agents after they saw him crossing the center line twice in his car. Police say that when agents pulled Smith over, they recognized him due to several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Smith was holding what police believe to be a marijuana cigarette at the time o the stop and also had a small amount of MDMA on him along with various drug paraphernalia according to police.

Smith was placed under arrest and booked for three counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine, Illegal Use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of Persons under 17 Years Old, Reckless Operation, Resisting an Officer, and Criminal Mischief. He was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense), MDMA and Drug Paraphernalia, as well as improper lane usage.
