Katz: Cold, windy weather hangs around

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Tuesday will see a break from the rain, although the clouds and cold temperatures hold on.

Highs will be in the upper 40s with less wind. Highs through Friday will struggle to top 50 at a time of the year when average/normal is 67.

Worse yet, a Gulf low is expected to develop and bring a cold rain shield for Wednesday. Rain totals could be 1-2 inches making for a miserable day as temperatures stay in the 40s.

A warming trend will arrive for the weekend but we'll need the heavier winter weather gear for the next several days. If yo are looking for 70 degree weather to return, you have to wait until Monday of next week.
