To add to the cold temperatures, we will see a Gulf low develop bringing a cold rain over the entire area.
Coats and umbrellas are a must. Through midday, another fast moving upper disturbance will trigger a new round of winter weather across the south. As much as 4 inches of snow expected across north Louisiana.
New Orleans will see a cold rain develop with temperatures staying in the 40s and brisk NE winds making it feel colder. Heavy weather gear will be required.
As the rain system pulls away on Thursday, a new surge of cold air pushes in from the north keeping highs 20-25 degrees below normal/average (67) into Saturday.
A painfully slow warming starts Saturday afternoon getting us back to 60 degrees on Sunday and 70 degrees for Monday.
