Police: Stabbing victim retaliates with a pot of hot coffee

Police say that a stabbing victim retaliated by throwing hot pot of coffee at her neighbor.

The incident happened in Central City on Tuesday evening. New Orleans police were called to the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue around 6:45 p.m.

Officers say that the victim, a 16-year-old female, was involved in a verbal altercation with her neighbor, identified as a 15-year-old girl.

As the altercation escalated, police say the 15-year-old produced a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim allegedly retrieved a hot pot of coffee and threw it at her neighbor.

Responding officers arrested the 15-year-old minor. She has been charged with aggravated battery.

Police say no one was seriously injured in the altercation.
