NOPD: Group beat and robbed sleeping homeless man

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Police are searching for a woman and three men who they said beat a man while he was sleeping outside and stole his blanket and cash.

The NOPD said on Feb. 23 at around 11:50 p.m., Rachel Pettit and the three men were walking on St. Phillip Street when they came upon a 51-year-old man who was sleeping. The suspects kicked and punched the victim and Pettit struck the victim in the face with a full can of beer. After taking the victim's blanket and cash, the suspects ran away.

The victim was hospitalized for a large cut to his eye and lip.

All four assailants are wanted for simple robbery and second degree battery.
