Search for runaway teen leads to Kenner man's arrest

The search for a missing teenager led to the arrest of a Kenner man for kidnapping, sexual battery and more.

According to police, officers were investigating the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl reported as a runaway. The investigation led them to the Rose Inn Motel on the 3600 block of Tulane Avenue in New Orleans where they found Myles with the missing girl.

Police arrested Myles and charged him with false swearing for the purpose of violating public health and safety (false police report), sexual battery, simple kidnapping, theft valued at $1,400.00, indecent behavior with a juvenile, aggravated crime against nature, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a person under the age of 17, and illegal possession of marijuana.

Police say that interviews conducted by officers and admissions made by Myles along with the recovery of evidence resulted in the charges against him.

A joint investigation between the Kenner Police Department and the New Orleans FBI Violent Crimes Task Force led to the arrest.

Myles is currently in police custody. No bond has been set for his release.
