New Orleanian Jacoby Jones cut by Ravens

(WVUE) - Two years after scoring two touchdowns in the Ravens' Super Bowl victory in his hometown, wide receiver Jacoby Jones has been cut by the team.

The Abramson High product played three seasons with Baltimore, including a postseason run in 2013 that saw him score three touchdowns in the champions' final two games.

In 2014, the 30-year-old scored just one touchdown on a kickoff return while logging nine catches.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said of the move: "Releasing him now allows him a better opportunity to land with another team."
